EVERYTHING You Always Wanted

My kids started making their Christmas lists this week....oh how they have so many things that they want!  It is human nature to be consumers.  We have an insatiable desire for things of this world.

Last week as the Lord woke me up early every morning to spend even more time with Him.  As usual, I spent time worshipping him in song (thanks YouTube), sitting quietly listening and waiting on His loving whispers to fill my heart with peace & joy.  

All of a sudden, the Lord whispered Song of Solomon 3:4 to me, "I have found the one in whom my soul loves."  Yes the truth was made known to every part of my mind, body and spirit that Jesus Christ is the One who deeply satisfies my soul. It has been through trials, hurts and pains that has caused me to press hard into God...and in the process it has stripped away the false desires of the world that lied to me of satisfaction.  James 1:2 really is true....we can consider it pure joy when we face trials...if we choose to have God's perspective and partner with faith, they bring us His goal of intimacy with Him.

Jesus Christ is EVERYTHING you always wanted.  Yes, things of this world are great.  But the things of this world are only gravy.  The are only the icing on the cake.  They are only good if you have sought God first--His Kingdom and Righteousness---then and only then will you find that knowing Him is the goal...it's truly what your heart wants.

I challenge you today to increase your time spent with Jesus.  Step up your game.  If you only pray, then start reading your Bible consistently.  If you do both, go after more in deep worship.  Press in friend.  Jesus is faithful and will draw near to you as you sincerely seek Him first above any other thing.  It's an investment that cannot be measured.

Jesus is everything you truly desire.  As you enter into the planning of Christmas, make sure Jesus is at the top of your list!
