"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted." Job 42:2
Last week I took some time to step back and get away from the busy and quiet myself for an entire day so I could renew my mind to God's Word and His loving whispers. The words He has been speaking over 2022 are Plan & Prepare....so that is how I wanted to spend it with Him....pressing into what His plans are for me this year.
As I was sitting in worship and enjoying the joy of His presence, one of my all time favorite verses popped into my mind, Psalm 37:4 which says, "delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." I have always loved this, because it's very exciting to think about God fulfilling the desires of my heart. However, instead of enjoying the verse like I always do, I was overcome with repentance realizing how selfish I have been especially thinking about this verse. The realization came afterwards that I DO NOT want the desires of my heart, but I want the desires of God's heart. Because, God's desires are SOO much better. It's not about getting what I want, but enjoying what God wants for me together with Him!
So God then proposed the question to me..."What are the desires of My heart towards you, Ashley?"
And here's what I wrote...and I believe the same is true for you!
- to know Him intimately
- to enjoy the resourses of Heaven
- to walk with Him daily
- to be a JOYFUL vessel for Him
- to worship and enjoy Him
- to be strong, unshakable, flexible, trusting, bold
- to be healthy
- to have plenty
- to create with His creativity
- to draw others to His heart of love for them
- to be grateful, patient, content
- to be in commuity with His body
- to be generous
So now I ask you....If this is God's desire for you...God's PLAN for you....then there is absolutely no worry, no anxiety, no fear....because His desires and plan for you are better than I could ever dream up! how wonderful!
What is God's plan for you in 2022? I konw it is to prosper and not harm you...to give you a hope and a future. As you begin each day, I urge you to ask God, what is the desire of your heart for me today? What is your plan for me today? And as you listen, act upon it...for His promise said that HIS plan cannot be thwarted!
