What if you really believed?
Mark 9:23 says, "Everything is possible for him who believes."
Do you believe this? As Christians, we call ourselves "believers." Yes, we believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead and in him alone do we have eternal salvation and life.
But "what if" we truly believed everything is possible for him who believes.....I know this question can be somewhat controversial, but God presented me with this question last week and as I began to think about it, it really wrecked me in the best of ways....let me explain!
As "believers" we really need to start BELIEVING all of the truths in the Bible. What if we truly trusted God just AT HIS WORD and believed the truths contained within it?
For example, what if we believed Philippians 4:6 when it says that when we rest in God and give Him our prayers and petitions, His peace will fill our hearts and minds in an unexplainable way?
Or what if we walked around claiming that "I am victorious" because we know the One who lives inside of us is greater than anything else in the world and His name IS victory, therefore we walk in victory too?! (Romans 8:37, 1 John 4:4)
Or what if, just what if we believed Romans 8:11 which tells us that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of us? Yes that same Holy Spirit and dunamous power lives inside of us?!
And ultimately, what if we just TRUSTED the Lord with all our heart and believed that He really will work it all our for our good?
This word the Lord challenged me on, "believers," fell so hard on my heart, because I truly think if we really did embrace our "beliefs" that God's Word is His promise to us and we can claim it and walk in it, things in our life would be so much different. So much more joy. So much more faith. So much more peace. So much more hope. So much more forgiveness. So much more love. So much more freedom. No more comparision. No more jealousy. No more criticism of others....because we believe we've got Jesus and that's more than we could ever want.
Think about these things. Pray and talk to God about them. Let this Word, "believer" totally fall heavy on your heart and wreck you for good....because at the end of the day, friends, this is the best news you have ever believed.
Just believe it.
All for Christ,
Ashley
